Two days?

I usually cut it down to half a day. I just made sure to document it.

Me: We should do it this way.

Manager: No, do it that way.

Me: This way will be faster and cheaper.

Manager: No, that way will be faster, cheaper and better.

Me: That way will fail because of X,Y, and Z reasons.

Manager: You're wrong. We should it that way.

Me: <emails>As per orders, doing it that way. I am concerned about X,Y, and Z

Manager: Stop being negative/you're a worrywart/X, Y, and Z aren't really problems

Me: <does it that way>

Two months later:

Director: This has been a catastrophic failure that has cost us $$$ and we lost the project.

Manager: It turns out X, Y and Z were unforseen problems. No one could have anticipated them.

Director: <points to me>You! You're supposed to understand this! Why didn't you know about it?

Me: <pulls out previous email>Well, acktually...

Get new manager, get new project, lather, rinse, repeat.
