Best wishes for keeping your sanity grasped at the same level and for keeping you out of custody!

I had an asshat boss like this. He also insisted on pronouncing the OS Linux as "line-EX" so really I deserve an award for only fantasizing about woodchippering him. 🏆

Have you even really worked if you haven't thought about going full Fargo on your boss? 😂

Congrats on your self control!

I once worked for a company. We were THE most EXPENSIVE solution. If you came to us you were paying 5 to 10 times more AT LEAST.

But, we would have it done as fast as you needed it, and it would be perfect or damn close to it.

We got a lot of work.

Then someone came along, paid an absurd amount of money to buy us and what did they do? They changed our entire way of doing business. We had to be ‘low cost’ ‘affordable’ ‘CHEAP’.

We were out of business in two years. It wasn’t what we did. And the industries who counted on us when there were emergencies and they needed their solution in 6 months or less were pissed.

Upper Management is often made up of morons who got their jobs via the divine right of kings and are just as inbred.

I was at an all hands meeting once where the General Manager presented the annual goals.

1. Robust, with high quality - no major customer complaints

2. On Time - no delivery failure

3. Within budget - no cost over runs

The goals for the year were literally: be good, fast, and cheap.

Employees were split. Half believed management needed to be reminded of the good/fast/cheap rule, with the other half believing that they were completely ignorant of it in the first place.

You "just" have to be Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. 😂

Oh, but they forgot the fourth: it needs to be beautiful too!
